Savor Authentic Italian Cuisine at La Favola in Fairfax
Restaurateur Jawad Laouaouda knows that when it comes to cuisine, slower is better. He’s a proponent of the slow food movement, which simply states that fresh, local fare crafted with care is better than cheap, quick-serve food. It may seem like an obvious concept, but, in fact, this philosophy distinguishes Jawad from other chefs in Fairfax. That’s why he owns two successful eateries: Bon Vivant Cafe + Farm Market and the recently unveiled La Favola.
The latter focuses on handcrafted Italian cuisine using a mix of local ingredients and components imported all the way from Italy, including San Marzano tomatoes and flour for the pizzas. You can’t go wrong with any of the pasta dishes, such as the lobster ravioli tossed in pink vodka sauce. If you want to try one of the pies, opt for the Italiana with prosciutto di Parma on top for the frutti di mare with a combination of octopus, shrimp, cuttlefish, and muscles.
